Dan Greaney penned the 2000 \u201cBart to the Future\u201d episode which predicted Donald Trump\u2019s presidency<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dan Greaney, the Simpsons writer who foresaw Donald Trump winning the White House decades in advance, has announced his own 2028 bid for presidency.<\/p>\n

The Simpsons\u2019 longtime writer and producer wrote the \u2018Bart to the Future\u2019 episode, broadcast in March of 2000, in which an adult Lisa Simpson appears as \u201cAmerica\u2019s first straight female president,\u201d<\/em> who inherits a \u201cbudget crunch from President Trump.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In a video on social media on Tuesday, Greaney, dressed as a prophet in a loose robe and large fake beard, accuses Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and \u201cbillionaires, careerists and cowards in both parties\u201d<\/em> of turning their backs on America\u2019s founding principle \u201cthat all men are created equal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe government is supposed to work for everyone. Democracy for all, accountability for all, prosperity for all. We must restore this,\u201d<\/em> he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait, I am a lawyer,\u201d<\/em> he says, announcing that he would run for president of the United States on the platform \u201cAmerica for All.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

According to his campaign website, the self-styled \u201cprogressive Republican\u201d<\/em> supports fighting influence-buying, improving transparency in US politics, making housing more readily available, and expanding universal health care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
