The president has been \u201ctotally disloyal\u201d and \u201ccheated\u201d on the country with a foreign power, the conservative journalist has told Bloomberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

The US is on the path to revolution because President Donald Trump has betrayed Americans by putting foreign interests ahead of those of his own country, journalist Tucker Carlson has said.<\/p>\n

In an interview<\/a> on Bloomberg\u2019s The Mishal Husain Show aired on Friday, the conservative commentator \u2013 once among Trump\u2019s most prominent supporters \u2013 accused the president of being \u201ctotally disloyal\u201d<\/em> to the US, saying he had \u201ccheated on the United States with a foreign power.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is why countries have revolutions,\u201d<\/em> Carlson said, adding: \u201cI don\u2019t want revolution, but we\u2019re going to get a revolution if this continues.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The former Fox News host, who backed Trump\u2019s 2024 reelection campaign before breaking with him over Iran, argued that many Americans no longer believed the political system represented their interests. He said Republicans had failed to fulfill promises to dismantle the \u201cdeep state,\u201d<\/em> citing the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files as evidence of why many supporters had lost faith in the party.<\/p>\n

Carlson has become increasingly critical of US backing for Israel\u2019s war in Gaza and publicly urged Trump not to attack Iran during Israel\u2019s 12-Day War with the Islamic Republic in June 2025. Their rift deepened after the US joined Israel\u2019s strikes on Iran in late February, with Carlson accusing Trump of putting Israeli interests ahead of America\u2019s. He also described Trump\u2019s \u201ctrue religion\u201d<\/em> as \u201cIsraelism\u201d<\/em> and called the Iran war \u201cdisgusting and evil.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cTrump allowed the US government to be completely steered by this tiny little country in the Middle East, Israel, to our great detriment,\u201d<\/em> Carlson told Bloomberg, adding that he had argued directly against Trump\u2019s approach, but \u201cthat had no effect at all.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then we wound up in a war with Iran that has gravely hurt the United States,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

The interview comes as the US continues its military campaign against Iran. US Central Command said it had completed a sixth consecutive night of strikes on Thursday after Trump threatened to expand attacks to Iranian energy infrastructure and bridges.<\/p>\n

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes on US military facilities across the region. Tehran has also warned that regional oil and gas exports could be halted, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed until Washington ends its \u201cillegal\u201d<\/em> military intervention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
