The Chinese-developed model <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/business\/614573-deepseek-chatgpt-kai-fu-lee\/\">blew up the AI scene<\/a> after it released its bot assistant app last January, providing performance on par with premium US models for free or at a fraction of the cost.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt was a smarter, more intelligent, more efficient way to think about AI,\u201d<\/em> including regarding <em>\u201copen sourcing models,\u201d<\/em> he said.
